Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
Geese (“Geese,” “we,” “us”) is a group travel-planning app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Geese you agree to this Policy.
Information you provide
- Account. Your email address and a password (or an Apple/Google sign-in identifier), plus profile details you add such as display name, username, bio, hometown, and profile photos.
- Trip content. Trips you create or join and everything in them — itinerary events, chat messages, polls, expenses and splits, packing lists, and photos you share.
- Journal and documents. Journal entries (text, photos, drawings) and any documents you choose to store, which may include sensitive images such as a photo of a passport or insurance card. You decide what to upload; we recommend uploading only what you need.
Information collected automatically
- Device and notifications. A push-notification token (if you enable notifications) and basic technical data needed to operate the app.
- Approximate location. If you grant permission, your device location may be used to show relevant information; trip destinations you type are also used to fetch weather, maps, and nearby places. We do not continuously track your location.
How we use your information
- Provide and operate the app — your trips, plans, chat, expenses, journal, and documents.
- Send transactional emails (e.g., confirm your address, reset your password, trip notifications).
- Power AI features that suggest or organize trip content (see below).
- Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
AI features
Some features (itinerary generation, packing suggestions, and reading a pasted plan, screenshot, or booking link into typed itinerary cards) send the relevant trip text or image to our AI provider (Anthropic, accessed via Vercel) to generate a result. This data is used to produce your result and is not used by us to build advertising profiles.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Geese:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage.
- Vercel — hosting and the AI gateway.
- Anthropic — the AI model behind suggestion/extraction features.
- Google Places — place and nearby-attraction lookups.
- Open-Meteo — weather and tide data for destinations.
- Resend — sending transactional email.
- Apple and Google — if you choose to sign in with them.
Trip content is shared with the people on that trip — that is the point of the app. Items you mark as personal (e.g., your own packing list, your journal, your documents) are visible only to you.
Storage and security
Your data is stored with Supabase and protected by access controls so that, in general, only you and the members of your trips can read your trip content, and only you can read your personal items. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings, which removes your account and associated personal data. Some records may be retained where required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile, control notification permissions, and delete your account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data; contact us to make a request.
Children
Geese is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
